BULLSHOT CRUMMOND by RON HOUSE, DIZ WHITE, JOHN NEVILLE-ANDREWS, ALAN SHEARMAN and DEREK CUNNINGHAM
An amateur performance by arrangement with Samuel French (New York) Ltd.
This parody of a low-budget 30s detective movie typifies British heroism at its dumbest.
The dashing Captain Hugh "Bullshot" Crummond – (WWI ace fighter pilot, Olympic athlete, racing driver, part-time sleuth and all round spiffing chap) - must save the world from Count Otto von Bruno, his ambiguous relation Lenya Von Bruno, and their dastardly plan to ruin the international diamond market by kidnapping Professor Fenton and, of course, win the heart of a jolly nice young lady, Miss Rosemary Fenton (the professor’s daughter).
Much of the play's humour comes from its audacious (and intentionally failed) efforts to recreate film effects on stage.
