Hertford Theatre often hosts productions that are relevant to national curriculum texts, or are useful to drama and literature students. Where productions provide teachers' packs you will be able to find them here.
As a venue, here are some useful points for visiting teachers and schools:
Coaches and Minibuses
If travelling by coach or minibus, you can drop your school party off right outside Hertford Theatre in our car park area. It is off the main road and students can make their way safely to our foyer.
Lunch at Hertford Theatre
If the performance your school group is attending runs over lunchtime, you are welcome to stay and eat packed lunches in our River Room or Studio (availability permitting).
Meet the Director and Backstage Tours
We want students and teachers to understand what goes on behind the scenes in a busy theatre. Our director, Rhys Thomas offers Q&A sessions to school groups and accompanied tours around the inner workings of Hertford Theatre. If you are interested, please contact Rhys via his profile here.
If teachers would like to see the theatre and auditorium before bringing their school group to a show and would like to discuss their individual needs, our Marketing and Audience Development Manager, Emma Parlow - regularly meets with teachers for a friendly introduction to the theatre and coffee, either at your school or in our café.
If you have any queries or would like to discuss bringing your school group to Hertford Theatre, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01992 531593.
We look forward to hearing from you!
