Can we guarantee disabled parking at the theatre?

Hertford Theatre has no disabled parking. Disabled patrons may be dropped off and picked up outside the theatre. The nearest disabled parking spaces are located in St Andrews Street car park.

Does the theatre have a hearing aid loop/facilities?

Yes- a hearing hoop is available. To use this facility please ask at the Box Office for a receiver which can work with supplied headphones or your own hearing aid. The Box Office staff can explain how to use them.

Is there disabled access?

We are mostly located on a flat ground floor, but where needed, there are ramps to get around. Unfortunately, our auditorium does not have a lift, but if you would like to see a show and you are in a wheelchair or have limited mobility, please contact the box office who will arrange seating for you. You need to arrange this at least 72hrs before your visit to Hertford Theatre.

What food do you offer?

We have a café that opens 30mins before an event that serves a selection of hot and cold drinks and snacks.

What is Hertford like?

Hertford is the county town of Hertfordshire, but is a relatively small town. It is a friendly place with lots going on, especially for families. There are other arts and heritage organisations that we work closely with, including Hertford Museum, Hertford Library and Courtyard Arts

There are very few high street chains and lots of small, friendly local businesses. There are 3 secondary schools in Hertford and 7 primary schools.

There are lots of cafes in Hertford and a few boutique hotels including The Salisbury, Hertford House Hotel and Number 1 Port Hill

Hertford has 2 stations, both with regular trains into London Kings Cross, Finsbury Park, Moorgate and Liverpool Street. The journeys take roughly 1 hour.

There is a taxi rank outside the theatre with local firms operating late into the night.

For eating before an evening performance, there is a wide choice of wonderful independent restaurants, along with some well-known chains. They are all in a short walking distance of Hertford Theatre.
