What is Hertford like?
Hertford is the county town of Hertfordshire, but is a relatively small town. It is a friendly place with lots going on, especially for families. There are other arts and heritage organisations that we work closely with, including Hertford Museum, Hertford Library and Courtyard Arts.
There are very few high street chains and lots of small, friendly local businesses. There are 3 secondary schools in Hertford and 7 primary schools.
Hertford has 2 stations, both with regular trains into London Kings Cross, Finsbury Park, Moorgate and Liverpool Street. The journeys take roughly 1 hour.
There is a taxi rank outside the theatre with local firms operating late into the night.
For eating before an evening performance, there is a wide choice of wonderful independent restaurants, along with some well-known chains. They are all in a short walking distance of Hertford Theatre.
