We are committed to growing new audiences by exploring ways of making and presenting relevant, resonant and challenging theatre for all our audiences.
We are plugged into all the networks that you would expect of a theatre of our size and with a big commitment to access, diversity and equality across the programme, Hertford Theatre has great relationships with all sorts of venues dotted across the district from village halls to other regional theatres.

We received the Arts Council funded Greenhouse Producers Fellowship Award in conjunction with Harlow Playhouse, have been awarded Best Regional Theatre for two years running by regional promotional magazine: Muddy Stilettoes and are also a Hertford Regional College employee of the year winner for Technical Theatre.

As well as producing our own in-house Christmas show and giving work to a small army of actors, designers, makers and stage crew; we have been involved in a range of co-productions and arts activities that touch all corners of East Herts.
We have supported a number of regional and national touring companies to rehearse and stage their work at Hertford Theatre and in partnership with local arts-based businesses we seek to make the venue as accessible and relevant as possible.
