COVID-19 Booking Update
Hertford Theatre are planning to re-open the cinema from 9th July, at the earliest, with a streamlined mixed-bill offer of films Thursdays to Saturdays subject to national government guidelines and the capacity of our programming partners, Picturehouse. The theatre will open and close between screenings to allow for a thorough cleaning of all public spaces. Customers can enjoy takeaway only treats and drinks from the cafe.
Hertford Theatre will only be open 30minutes before the start of each screening, to customers attending that screening.
If you do not arrive in time for your screening, you risk being not allowed in.
If you can no longer attend your booked screening due to displaying COVID-19 symptoms, self-isolating or being told to isolate, you must inform the Box Office at least 24hrs before your screening in order for this to be processed. Please email email@example.com
Our Box Office and Café are closed on Mondays.
You can email firstname.lastname@example.org with any queries regarding your booking. They will pick your email up on Tuesday.
For non-booking related enquiries, please call our general admin line on 01992 504537. You cannot book tickets via this line.
Bank Holiday opening times may vary.
- Performance days: Box Office closes 15 minutes after a performances starts.
- Non-Performance days: The Box Office closes at 5pm.
Tickets may be posted to you for a handling fee of £1.00.

You can book online 24 hours a day for most productions at the theatre from this website.
Hertford Theatre does not take reservations.

All tickets and booking fees are non-refundable.

Access for All
Hertford Theatre has no disabled parking. Disabled patrons may be dropped off and picked up outside the theatre. The nearest disabled parking spaces are located in St Andrews Street car park.
The Auditorium can accommodate a limited number of wheelchairs for seated events. Please inform the box office when booking your tickets if you or any of your party will be attending in a wheelchair.
A hearing aid loop system is installed in the auditorium for the hard of hearing.
Unless otherwise stated, all films will have Audio Description, which enables people with visual impairment to enjoy the cinema.
Please ask our Box Office for a headset. We have limited availability of headsets and operate on a first come, first served basis.
There is no Audio Description on Soft Subtitled Films.
Soft Subtitled Films
Soft Subtitling provides much more informationn than "normal" English subtitles and is especially useful for those with hearing impairments. Subtitled Films will not have Audio Description.
Specially designed for children with SEN and Autism, families can enjoy a film without extra stimuli such as queuing, adverts and Front of House annoucements. The lighting will be dimmed and the sound reduced.
If you need a break from the film, there will be a chill-out space available.

Bad Weather Policy
In the unlikely event we cancel a performance because of seasonal bad weather, we will inform all bookers with as much notice as possible and offer one of the following:
- Tickets to an alternative performance of the same production.
- Credit to the value of the tickets purchased to be used as the booker wishes on a future show at Hertford Theatre.
- A full refund.
If the show or film continues to play but you are not able to attend, no refunds or ticket exchanges will be given.
