The global sensation, The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show, created by Jonathan Rockefeller, brings you the brand new holiday production, The Very Hungry Caterpillar Christmas Show!
A theatrical recreation of Eric Carle’s beautifully imaginative stories, The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show, features a menagerie of enchanting puppets during a magical 50-minute show that faithfully adapts four of Eric Carle’s beloved books for the stage.
The production includes the fan favorites, Brown Bear, Brown Bear, 10 Little Rubber Ducks, the newly added Dream Snow and, of course, The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
“I hope the performances will be enjoyed by many and that the colorful characters will bring comfort and joy to all who see the stories that have been so carefully produced. It is uplifting to see such beautiful and cheerful works inspired by my characters! I hope my books – and this show – will inspire you and your imagination, ” said Eric Carle.
“The response to The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show has been incredible and has exceeded our expectations. We are thrilled that so many children are experiencing the magic of theatre for the very first time – with a character they all grew up with.” The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show creator/ director – Jonathan Rockefeller
What to expect and information to help you prepare for your visit!
Doors will open to Hertford Theatre 35 minutes before your show starts.
We know you will be excited to get inside, but you'll need to be patient so we can control the flow of people inside the building.
You'll follow a one-way, socially distanced system around the building, passing opportunities for purchasing merchandise, leaving your buggy in our buggy park if you have one, buying food and drink from our cafe if you wish, and going straight into the auditorium to your seat.
You leave your buggy and belongings in our buggy park at your own risk.
There's likely to be a queue for the buggy park, so if you are able to visit without a buggy, that would be great!
Toilets are open for you to use of course, but you may need to queue. One of our volunteers will be looking after this queue.
Our merchandise booth and cafe operate with contactless payments only.
Limited booster seats are available, and will be operated on a first-come, first-served basis. We clean all booster seats after each performance.
All tickets include a £1.50 booking fee.
